This year, the CCARC Field Day was run as an NIMS-compliant exercise.  K3PZN was an all QRP/Battery operation.
Because of an adverse weather forecast (lightning hazard), the operations were moved from the planned site at Springfield Hospital to the Alternate EOC at the Emergency Services Training Center in Westminster, MD.

FB FD indeed !

All star cast of QRP rigs FT-817, Argonaut V, IC-703, K2.

Good CW ops N3WM, N3SB, K3ESE making lot's of QSOs with a pair of K2's.

SSB QSOs happening at QRP with some great band conditions (and a nicely deployed beam!).

Dedicated digital mode captain bringing in the power to run things for the duration.

A youth and a prospective ham making QSOs all around the USA. Everyone getting into the action.

Willingness to try something different and modify plans.

FB FD commander who organized and executed event, and who brought in lots of calories and liquids.

Learned how to program a few more K2 features ... got introduced to some excellent vintage Kenwood headphones (by a guy who nearly only operates Elecraft gear yet).

Oh yes seeing 160+ QSOs with one 11 Amp-hour battery!

Look forward to new adventures next year.  73
